GRAINFATHER
The Grainfather has been developed by the innovative New Zealand company - Imake Ltd, who also produces Mangrove Jack’s brew kits and Still Spirits distilling products.
It has taken almost two years of rigorous research and development by our expert team of industrial designers, engineers and help from commercial brewers to finally launch the Grainfather – all in one brewing system.
The Grainfather takes the best brewing practices from craft breweries and puts them into a simple to use, all in one system to ensure anyone can brew a professional craft beer, no matter their brewing experience.
You can also turn the Grainfather, into a microdistillery by changing the top parts and adding the Still Spirits Alembic Pot Still Attachments. The Grainfather brings the artisan elements of both the Mangrove Jack's and the Still Spirits brands together creating something truly handcrafted.
Randy Dipner - Grainfather Rep USA

Randy has been a homebrewer since the early days of the craft. He started brewing back in the late 70s when the hobby was first legal. Finding ingredients was really hard. The only things available were generally found in craft stores on a shelf hidden away from the other “acceptable” crafts.
Randy has been an attendee, volunteer, and captain at the Great American Beer Festival for about 20 years. He currently coordinates the volunteers for one of the teams – the Brewt Squad. The team is about 150 volunteers who work the four sessions of the event. For the past three years they have experienced perfect attendance of their volunteers. That’s some kind of record for the event.
Randy organized the All Colorado Beer Festival in 2007 with 20 Colorado brewers and about 1,000 attendees. The 8th annual event, held in November 2014, had over 70 Colorado brewers over 200 beers, a formal beer judging event, and over 3,200 attendees. The event raised $70,000 for local nonprofit organizations.
Randy also supports several other local beer festivals with expertise and materials such as tapping equipment, barrels, pitchers, etc.
Randy is an avid beer drinker. He and his wife visit at least 50 breweries each year to sample the beers and chat with brewers. On three recent trips they visited brewers in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio. Did you know there is a brewery in Ten Sleep, Wyoming and two in Hill City, South Dakota?!
John Haven - Grainfather Rep USA

John served over 38 years in the United Sates Air Force and was stationed in Germany twice – that’s over six years sampling some of the best beers in Europe! An avid traveler, he visited over 15 countries, drank their beer, learned a great appreciation for the different styles of beer and studied their origins.
After retiring from the Air Force, he became involved with the emerging craft brewing industry in Colorado Springs and joined the local homebrewing club, The Brew Brothers of Pikes Peak. He served two years as the club vice president and is currently the club treasurer.
John started judging beer in 2009 and in 2013 became a BJCP Recognized Judge. In 2014 he advanced to BJCP Certified Judge and is currently studying to take the BJCP written exam. When he successfully completes that exam, he will become a BJCP National Ranked Judge.
John has become very involved in both the homebrewing community and the commercial craft brewing community. He is a member of the planning committee for the All Colorado Beer Fest and introduced formal judging to the event three years ago. For two years he was the organizer of a Colorado Springs homebrewing competition and grew it to be the largest independent homebrewing competition in Colorado. He helped the homebrewing club in Pueblo, Colorado organize their first homebrewing competition and festival, and he helped a hops grower in Monument, Colorado with their first ever commercial fresh hops competition and festival. He has been involved in so many great brewing organisations and competitions it is hard to list all of them, he really knows his stuff!
