Imake is a supplier of high quality equipment and ingredients to make almost any type of alcoholic drink, cheese, sausage and yoghurt. We are dedicated to helping everyday people make their own cost effective, fresh and delicious food and drinks in their own home.
The Imake name reflects our products – but we wanted to take it further. As well as creating ways for people to make products, we also want to create a way for people to make a difference.
The Imake a Difference Trust was set up by Philippa Fee of Jones Fee law firm and all of the staff at Imake are proud to be contributing to the "Imake a Difference" charitable trust. Without the expertise and support from the Imake team this charitable trust would not be possible. Each cause is selected based on Imake's staff input, meaning that the causes are something the team is passionate about and have the drive to “make a difference" in.
2013 – 2016: Project Rhino
Our managing director Peter Eastwood has a great passion for South Africa and visits there two or more times a year. Through his frequent trips to the country, Peter learnt about the poaching of the rhino and the threat of extinction they are under. Rhino are being poached for their horn and at the current rate, could be extinct in as little as 10 years.
Seeing the rhino being killed for their horn shocked and horrified Peter. He knew he had to do something to help. As a result, helping the rhino is Imake a Difference’s first project and will be the focus for the next four years.
The special thing about the Imake a Difference charitable trust is that 100% of all donations go to the trust and any administration costs are paid by Imake. Also Chil, our lawyer on the ground in South Africa, ensures that the causes we identify are legitimate and distributes the money as required. Chil does not charge for this work.
