Adopt a Rhino

It costs R25,000 per annum to adopt a rhino.

Imake a Difference wishes to thank the following proud rhino adopters;

Debbie Eastwood, Wellington – Jonah

SPL International UK – Hope

Noble Grape Canada – To be named

The Wallace Family, Petone - Mia

Imake Limited, Tane

The Adopt a Rhino funds go towards the following:

  • Project Rhino Tracker – the fitting of the latest GPS technologies to rhino to allow better monitoring of rhino populations on key protected areas.

  • Rhino Monitors – employing full time personnel who track the rhino and try to locate each rhino at least every three days.

  • Somkhanda Game Reserve – the adopted rhino live on the Somkhanda Game Reserve, a community owned reserve, created following land restitution to the Gumbi tribe. The successful involvement of indigenous communities in conservation will greatly increase habitat and also assists hugely in the fight against poaching.

This programme has proven to be a huge success as it creates a nearly constant presence around each individual rhino with the community outside the reserve helping in the fight against poaching.
