Sour Power IPA

Brewing hoppy sour beers provides a unique set of challenges for brewers. Hops will inhibit souring which will prevent you from achieving the effect you want in a sour beer. Similarly, hoppy beers are best fresh, before the delicate hop aromas have faded but sour beers require extended periods of aging which means hoppy sours can become dull and muddy over time. The secret is creating a sour base beer, which will undergo the aging process and then dry hopping just prior to packaging to retain aroma.
